Daitokuji temple is one of Japan’s significant sites, head of the Rinzai sect of Buddhism. It was established in 1319 by Shuho Myocho. One of Chado’s (Japanese tea ceremony) most influential figures, Sen no Rikyu, lived and died at Daitokuji, he still rests there. This temple has been deeply related to tea ceremony. Most of tea ceremony utensils that are designated as national treasures are housed in this temple complex.

How to prepare Thin tea:
Step1: Eat some sweet before drink tea.
Step2: Use matcha sifter put 2g/ (4g for thick tea) mesh the matcha powder into a tea bowl
Step3: pour 70ml 80c water over the matcha powder
Step4: whisk with a chasen (tea whisk) until foamy and small bubbles

Tips:
When your matcha is ready, drink it immediately, because as it cools down it might turn bitter.
Please store in a cool place, pay attention to humidity and aroma.
Store in the refrigerator to keep it fresh in 7 months. (Matcha is best fresh. Strongly recommended consume it within a month after opening)
